Munnar

Munnar one the most beautiful hill station
of Kerala where the tea plantations spread like a green carpet on Earth.
Munnar is still very much a British Tea Plantation Town, its beauty further
enhanced by great black roads that thrust upwards from amidst the thick
vegetation. Clouds drop gently on the mountain peaks that flank the verdant
shaped slender blue and red gum trees that shoot up into the sky and the
winding lanes of the town. The town is situated at the confluence of the
three mountain streams, Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni
and Kundala, 1600 meter above sea level this hill station
was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South
India. Sprawling Tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, and
holiday facilities make this a popular resort town. Among the exotic flora
found in the forests and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji. This flower
which bathes the hills in the blue every twelve years, will bloom next
in 2006 AD. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi
, which towers over 2695 m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking.
For adventure lovers, there is paragliding and for nature lovers there
are some of the World's highest tea estates. You may also enjoy boating
in the lakes of Munnar. Nature walks and hiking are popular activities
that tourist in Munnar indulge in. All your weariness and stress will
